The fall

Today was the first day this year I really got the feeling that the fall is on its way. A chill wind came towards me and my arms covered with goose bumps. You can feel the air being cold despite the sun still shining its rays on us and you can almost smell the fall. I really like this since it allows me to start wearing a cosy jacket, big scarf’s and new lovely shoes.
Bags!

If Melina loves shoes and sunglasses I’m the one who loves bags.
I don’t own a lot of them but it’s always a pleasure to walk around the Galeries Lafayette in Paris looking at the new trends. I love the details that go into them: to me the lining is as important at the exterior and I can’t fall in love with a bag if the inside pockets are missing in action!
It doesn’t really matter to me if we’re talking about smart bags or sportswear bags. I love them all, though I have to admit a certain fondness for shoulder bags.
If like me, your love of bags knows no limit, have a look at the What’s in your bag Flickr group, interesting perspective on what people like to hide in their bags…
“If the shoes don’t have high heels they are not worth the money”

I already did a post about the obsession for sunglasses in the spring, so I thought I’d follow it up with another spring-obsession many people tend to get (including me): Shoes.
Obviously shoes are an “all year around thing” but it’s now, during the spring and the summer I find that the most people go crazy about shoes. I suppose that’s logical, it’s at this time of the year you have the widest range of choices. You can still wear sneakers and boots as well as peep-toes and high heels.
My ‘now shoes’ are the really high heeled platform shoes that you can see in every store and on every girl in Stockholm, both day and night. That’s the kind of shoe I just assumed is ‘now’. But since I moved to London I’ve had to do some thinking: Is a shoe ‘now’ when it’s Carrie Bradshaw’s latest addition to her shoe collection? Or is a shoe ‘now’ when the rest of the city wears it? I mean what’s the definition of now really?
When I look around at people in London, it’s not the heels I see the most, it’s the ballerina shoes (even in the evenings). So the question is am I wrong and the ballerina shoe should be the ‘shoe of now’ or am I and the girl I once heard saying: “If the shoes don’t have high heels they are not worth the money” right?
Laced up and ready to go

It’s almost the weekend and I’m in the office. But that doesn’t mean I’m down. Looking down at my shoes from time to time, maybe… but not down!
Tattoos in photos?

Does this tattoo make or ruin this photo for you?
Sometimes tattoos can look amazing in photos… Here for example the key elements are the black and white of the photo, the loose top and the drama with the heel of her shoe. The tattoo almost distracts you from the magic number of interesting points in the shot.
It’s still a great photo by a Spanish photographer who has a blog too!
Paris

I absolutely couldn’t stand these when I first saw them, and nothing has changed. Tiny wellington sandals with holes in, what’s the attraction? Okay… I’m going to stop now. Are you enjoying the weekend? I am, and I’ve just returned from Future of Web Apps and started to upload my doodle notes of the event. Let me know what you think!
