The infinite room

I stumbled upon this picture on the This is Now Flickr group ealier today. It’s a fascinating piece of art by Yayoi Kusama currently at the Mattress Factory Art Museum in Pittsburgh.
The white formica floor is covered with three sizes of colored fluorescent dots. The room is filled with black light. The visitor becomes part of the creation entirely as he gets reflected on the ceiling and walls.
For Yayoi Kusama: “A mirror is a device which obliterates everything including myself and others in the light of another world or a gallant apparatus which creates nothingness.”
